Samsung Pay is officially Launched in India.

India is becoming Tech giant potential market as Microsoft launched Skype Lite and the likes now, another is rolling out today “Samsung Pay”.

Samsung Pay supports both NFC(Near Field Communication) and MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission). Its supported banks are : Axis, HDFC, ICICI, SBI (State Bank of India), AMEX, Citi, Standard Chartered. Samsung Pay supports VISA, MasterCard and American Express or US Bank.

Samsung teams up with “Paytm” – India’s largest mobile wallet with 200 Million registered users to add support for its digital payment service. Samsung Pay is Simple, Secure and Everywhere.


India takes Samsung Pay to a total of 13 countries where, South Korea and USA  launched August 20, 2015 and September 28, 2015 respectively and also Australia, Brazil, Spain and Singapore in 2016.

Devices that Samsung Pay supports are : Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016), Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016).

Samsung Pay is expanding to three new countries this year and is looking to add new features for its US users, while Apple Pay’s launch in Japan took off to a rough start.
